Out of favour central midfielder Darron Gibson could be on his way to the Championship, with multiple clubs being linked with the player. The Republic of Ireland international is desperate to play, but has not found any joy at Everton with Ronald Koeman not interested in selecting the player.
Leeds United are being strongly linked with a move for the player, even though he doesn’t quite fit the need for the club. United are looking for a starting calibre player in the middle and Gibson is not that person with how little he has played in the last few years.
Newcastle United and Derby County are also being linked with the midfielder.
Gibson signed a new two-year contract over the summer, but between perennial injury woes and lack of form, he has only made on substitute appearance in an EFL Cup game. He also has just five Premier League starts in the previous two seasons, and currently trains with the Under-23s with David Unsworth in charge.
