Deulofeu is expected to undergo a medical on Monday before rubber-stamping a loan deal at the San Siro until the end of the season.
There was confusion on Friday evening when AC Milan posted a tweet confirming the 22-year-old had joined the club.
However, that tweet was soon deleted with Everton insistent the deal wasn’t yet completed. The Blues were reportedly furious at the Serie A club for jumping the gun and announcing the deal without details of the move being fully agreed.
How the loan term ended has been a sticking point for this deal for some time, with media sources reporting that Everton wanted a clause put in where the Italians would have to buy the player outright at the end of the season.
The Italian side were also reluctant to pay a loan fee for the former Barcelona youngster.
However, word is Milan have resisted that and will now have the choice to retain the player’s services in the summer, paying a £430,000 loan fee with an option to buy him for £15.5m at the end of the current season.
