Manchester United have rejected a £19 million bid from Everton for midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin, reports the Guardian.

The Blues are expected to have a busy January transfer window with RoyalBlueMersey understanding manager Ronald Koeman wants as many as eight new players.

Among them is a central midfielder; especially as Idrissa Gueye will be absent while he competes at the Africa Cup of Nations with Senegal.

One man who has been touted as a potential signing is United midfielder Schneiderlin who has been suggested as a target for several weeks.

The Frenchman is out of favour at Old Trafford and has barely featured under Jose Mourinho this season.

However, it seems United are keen to get good money despite that and have already rejected an Everton bid for his services.

According to the Guardian, they have rejected a £19 million offer from the Merseyside club as they hold out for as much as £24 million, the price they paid Southampton for his signature in 2015.

It remains to be seen if Everton are willing to pay that price as they look to get their winter business underway as soon as possible.
