It’s a Merseyside against Manchester doubleheader on Sunday in the Premier League as first Everton host Manchester City, and then Liverpool are at Manchester United.

New signings Morgan Schneiderlin and Ademola Lookman are both available for the Blues, but could be short of match fitness. Also recovered and likely to be in the matchday squad are Maarten Stekelenburg and James McCarthy who were both injured nearly a month ago in the Merseyside Derby.

Aaron Lennon and Bryan Oviedo have recovered from knocks and could make the team as well, while Muhamed Besic and Dominic Calvert-Lewin are on schedule to return next month.

Idrissa Gueye will miss the game as he is representing Senegal at the Africa Cup of Nations, while Tom Cleverley left the club on loan this week.

For visitors Manchester City, club captain Vincent Kompany is in contention to play for the first time since sustaining a knee injury in November. Leroy Sane is also available, as is Kevin De Bruyne who has recovered from an illness this week.

Midfielder Fernando is an injury doubt for the Citizens. Fernandinho is suspended and summer signing Gabriel Jesus is not eligible to play. Ilkay Gundogan and Fabian Delph are out indefinitely with injuries.
