CONFIRMED: Oumar Niasse leaves for Hull

Oumar Niasse’s Everton nightmare is over. The Senegalese striker has joined struggling Hull City on loan until the end of the season.

Though not confirmed by the Tigers, reports claim Hull will cover all of Niasse’s £55,000-a-week wages and have the option to buy the striker permanently for £10m at the end of the season.

Niasse leaves just under a year after joining Everton for £13.5m from Lokomotiv Moscow.

The move, however, has turned into something of a disaster for all concerned and symbolised the dying embers of the Roberto Martinez reign.

He made just seven appearances for the club last season, just two of those starts, and visibly struggled to get to grips with the physicality of the Premier League.

He was banished to the Under 23s by Ronald Koeman in the summer, where he made five appearances and scored seven goals.

It was made clear that he has no future at Goodison Park, though (he was even stripped of his locker at USM Finch Farm), and has been on the hunt for a new club since the summer.

The Tigers are currently bottom of the table and new boss Marco Silva is keen to add to his squad as they aim to avoid the drop.

Though a disaster on the pitch Niasse has maintained his dignity and professionalism of it in difficult circumstances. I’m sure the majority of Evertonians will wish him well.
