Everton winger Gerard Deulofeu has been a hot topic as the transfer window finally swung upon earlier this morning. There had been some chatter in the last few days that there was no room for him at Goodison Park under Ronald Koeman, and that there might be some offers coming in for the winger.

The manager however said that there were no official bids in for the player and that he was willing to discuss a move for any player who didn’t feel at home at the club. Some La Liga clubs, especially Deportivo La Coruna were linked with the player, and then an Italian source insisted that a deal was already struck by Everton and AC Milan for a ‘dry loan’ - a loan with no option to buy.

And then this morning the tabloids are now saying that it’s Premier League side Middlesbrough who could be making a move for the player, citing the Spanish link with manager Aitor Karanka.

Hard to tell what’s true or what’s not as usual, but it’s very unlikely that with Everton’s depth situation being like it is, any players are going to be leaving before new signings have joined up with the club.
