Everton drew 1-1 against visitors Crystal Palace at Goodison Park in the Friday night spectacle. Romelu Lukaku scored a spectacular freekick, curling it right over the wall that failed to jump and goalie Steven Mandanda had no chance.
A strong performance from the Eagles in the second half though could have won them the game, only a piece of possibly lucky work from the referee’s assistant saving the Blues from losing again.
The Blues turned in another spotty performance, and though Ronald Koeman appeared generous in his praising the Evertonian team defending, in the end it was probably deserved because we’ve often seen the Blues fold when faced with an aerial bombardment like Palace delivered.
The Premier League is off next weekend for the international break, with a daunting trip to Manchester City coming up next for the Toffees.
