Everton’s Leighton Baines will miss out on the game tonight as he has not fully recovered from the hamstring injury that knocked him out of last week’s game at Bournemouth.

Manager Ronald Koeman said in his pre-match press conference yesterday that the veteran leftback will not be risked especially with the international break starting after this weekend.

Romelu Lukaku is still experiencing pain from his toe injury, but trained this week and will be starting.

Midfielders Darron Gibson and James McCarthy are both recovering from minor surgeries and are scheduled to start training next week. Muhamed Besic remains out and is scheduled for a mid-February return.

For the Blues’ opponents Crystal Palace, club captain Scott Dann is out with a hamstring injury. Striker Loic Remy is out until November with a thigh strain, while Jonathan Benteke, younger brother of Christian Benteke, is also out for the long term with a knee injury.

Wilfried Zaha is back in the squad though after recovering from a hamstring issue and could be in the starting lineup as Alan Pardew’s side chases their fourth straight win while hosts Everton are looking to bounce back from their first defeat of the season.
