UPDATE: October 5th, 2016

The player's agent Karlheinz Forster said that they declined a £25m bid from Chelsea over the summer so that the player could continue to develop at Hoffenheim.

He went on to admit that there had been plenty of English interest, and he expected that to heighten in 2017.

Niklas Süle is the subject of plenty of international interest. Up to six teams were present at the last Bundesliga game played by TSG Hoffenheim on Sunday, all for the giant 6’5" defender, per German media source Bild.

Süle, capped once for Germany in August, is a towering centerback and Everton, Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal, Atletico Madrid, Valencia and Inter Milan have all had scouts watching him.

He has represented Die Mannschaft at every youth level from U16 to U21, playing 41 times with six goals. Süle started in all six matches Germany played in the Olympics this summer, culminating in a silver medal as they lost to hosts Brazil in the final on penalties.

The 21-year-old extended his contract before the 2015-16 season until the summer of 2019. He has been with Hoffenheim since 2010 as part of the youth team.

He has played in 79 League games, scoring five goals with one assist. Football website TransferMarkt has him valued at €12 million, but with all this attention on the player it could take much more than that to prise him away.

Niklas Sule stats

For a big man, it’s odd his strength is not in the air, but the stats are also dependent only on the current season.

We’ll see if there is any more chatter about the player when the January transfer window rolls around.
