The storyline of an unbeaten season continues. Everton have not even dropped points since their August 13 Premier League season opener against Tottenham, having won five straight matches since then in all competitions. It would be neat to keep it going against “Scottish Messi” and company.
It’s always good to see Steven Naismith again. No matter what, he is a club legend in many Evertonians hearts. He gave everything he had for the club and is still missed.
That said, this should be a good exercise for some of Everton’s less-used players. Enner Valencia is set to get the start in place of a slightly-injured Romelu Lukaku. Perhaps the likes of Tom Cleverley, Joel Robles and Ramiro Funes Mori will get involved as well. And could we see more of the impressive youngster Mason Holgate?
But the Canaries are not a side to mess about with. They may be in the Championship, but they were in the Prem just a few months ago, have a slew of first-tier-caliber players and are on a three-game winning streak of their own. Beware of the trap game, Toffees.
