Everton have no new injury issues since last weekend, with Tom Cleverley back in the squad. Manager Ronald Koeman said that Cleverley had been close to a return for Monday’s game against Sunderland, but was held back as a precaution.
Darron Gibson remains out though, as are longer-term absentees and fellow midfielders James McCarthy and Muhamed Besic. Young defenders Matthew Pennington and Tyias Browning are out too, though Browning has recently resumed light training.
Loan signing Enner Valencia had his first week of training with the squad, and Koeman indicated that he could make his Everton debut, either in the starting eleven or as a substitute.
For opponents Middlesbrough, Jordan Rhodes and Christhian Stuani are doubtful and will face late fitness tests for knee and groin ailments respectively.
Former Manchester United defender Fabio Da Silva is out indefinitely with a knee injury, while James Husband and Grant Leadbitter will miss more time with long term issues.
