Porto’s centreback Bruno Martins Indi was not at the team’s 2016-17 season squad presentation last night fueling speculation that the player could be on the move.

And then there was further news that the Portuguese side have signed French defender Willy Boly, paving the way for a move for Martins Indi.

Portuguese daily A Bola are claiming that Everton are the only side interested so far in the player.

The Portuguese media had previously linked the player with his former manager from Feyenoord, Ronald Koeman.

About a month ago, Portuguese paper O Jogo reported that Everton had made an offer of €10M for the Portugal-born player and the club could let him go as they are expecting him to be surplus to requirements. The player has two more years left on his current contract.

Martins Indi made 34 appearances for the club last season, including seven games in the Champions League and Europa Leagues. He had played in 37 games the previous season.

The 24-year-old defender is left-footed, and at 6’1” plays a physical game that would fit right in with the Blues. He has 31 international caps with the Netherlands in the last four years, scoring two goals. He also appeared in over 27 youth internationals with the Holland team.
