Everton strolled through the second round of the EFL Cup with a comfortable 4-0 win against League Two side Yeovil Town.
Goals from Aaron Lennon and captain for the day Ross Barkley had put the Blues ahead comfortably, before out-of-favour striker Arouna Kone chipped in with a brace to put the result beyond doubt.
Brian Oviedo and Ashley Williams came into the backline, James McCarthy gave Gareth Barry a break in the pivot position while Lennon and Yannick Bolasie started on the wings. Romelu Lukaku started his first game of the season.
Tom Cleverley came in for Mason Holgate at right back, highlighting the lack of depth in that position. Kone came on for Barkley to get some much-needed game time, while Darron Gibson made a rare appearance, subbing off McCarthy.
