It’s finally here. After (not that) much clamoring, Everton revealed their third kit for the 2016-17 season at a “Behind Closed Doors” event on Tuesday. It will be tough to miss the team on the pitch as it is a bright yellow number with blue details and looks as though it will be paired with blue shorts and yellow socks.

New signings Idrissa Gueye and Ashley Williams were on hand to introduce the new strip, which features a v-neck collar, mesh back panel, and the coordinates of Goodison Park on the back neck along side a Bullens Road stand-inspired graphic, according to the team website.

It is the loudest look for the Toffees in quite some time, perhaps since they went neon pink back in 2010-11. But it is a color scheme that Everton have used many times, most recently during the promising 2013-14 campaign.

For your viewing pleasure, Everton have provided an up close look at the full kit here and here. Hopefully you like it, as the Blues will be wearing the yellows for the first time on Saturday when they travel to the Hawthorns to face West Bromwich Albion.
In a year without European football, seeing the third kit may be a rarity. It will certainly take a back seat the home strip, which they debuted back in May. And the away kit seemed to get a positive fan reaction, and has already appeared in pre-season games.
This announcement by Everton puts an end to the “rumors” and “leaks” that were popping up around the internet for quite some time. No, the Toffees won’t be going for a sleek gray look or with the more bold orange shirt. Instead, it will be a tried and true blue/yellow combo that was hinted in the shirt sleeves of the home kit.
Interested in buying the shirt? They go on sale Tuesday, August 23. Everton has you covered on any other gear-related questions you may have.
