After a successful afternoon at Barnsley on Saturday, Everton continue their formal preseason schedule tonight with a game at Football League One side MK Dons. Everton have never played this version of The Dons before, who were founded in 2004 after historic side Wimbledon Football Club relocated to Milton Keynes.
Club captain Phil Jagielka missed the game with an injury, and is doubtful to make a return tomorrow. Gareth Barry, John Stones and James McCarthy also sat out with various ailments, while Gerard Deulofeu will have a late fitness test after picking up a knock against the Tykes.
Oumar Niasse and Arouna Kone were not on the squad list for Saturday, and it remains to be seen if they will be integrated into the preseason schedule or are on their way elsewhere as rumored.
Toffees defender Brendan Galloway is a former Don and is expected to receive a warm welcome back to his old stomping grounds.
This will be MK Dons’ eighth game of the preseason, with three wins, three draws and a loss so far. Their first game of the League One season is in eleven days, on August 6th.
