This is the biggest international soccer/football game on US soil in quite some time. The Americans are huge underdogs to tournament favorites Argentina. Plus, three of the Yanks starters (Bobby Wood, Ale Badoya amd Jermaine Jones) are suspended, so it is an uphill battle.
Argentina is one of the few “big” teams to really try in this competition. Lionel Messi and his mates really want to win this and get their country their first senior squad trophy since 1993. The only hurdle to the final matchup with Colombia or Chile is a greatly-weakened US side.
Everton player alert! Ramiro Funes Mori will again be in the Argentine lineup. He is back in Texas, the state he lived in for six years as a young man.
