Building on the continuing rumors of interest in Romelu Lukaku it looks like Everton maybe showing interest in 24-year-old striker Alexandre Lacazette out of Olympique Lyon in Ligue 1.
With 18 goals this season he is tied with PSG star Edinson Cavani for second in the league. His rumored cost is at least £22 million, but that seems likely to rise with more interest from English teams and Everton ready to spend new investment.
Lacazette just signed a new five year deal last season so the team will also have solid control over the French striker and have to be pressed into selling him. His ability to play out wide would certainly be a reason Everton might target Lacazette as long as Roberto Martinez is in charge at Everton, but like most rumors around here interest is subject to who's managing the team come July and August.
If a striker like Lacazette could be had for a price of £22 million it would be dumb not to do it although leaving our attacking options to Oumar Niasse and Lacazette alone next year might make for some serious nerves going into next season no matter who the manager is.
