Coventry City's German-born striker Bassala Sambou will join Everton this summer. The young forward has rejected a professional deal from the Sky Blues, and will instead sign a contract with the Toffees.

Sambou has sparkled with the Coventry City youth sides, scoring 25 goals this season. Most of that haul came for the Under-18s in the League and FA Youth Cup,  while he also had four goals for the Under-21 team.

Although promised a future role in the club's plans by manager Tony Mowbray, the highly-rated teenager turned down a chance to push for a place in the first team and will sign with Everton. The Coventry Academy graduate has reportedly been at loggerheads with Coventry who made a ‘pretty good offer beyond what we might have offered normal scholars'.

The 18-year-old has only made one senior appearance with Coventry in Football League One, as a substitute on 7 November 2015 in the FA Cup. The Sky Blues lost in the First Round to Northampton Town, with the striker coming on after 58 minutes.
