In a weird rumor that's doing the media rounds, it looks like several teams are eyeing Everton's Ramiro Funes Mori for a summer transfer. The central defender has been a force on set pieces on the attacking side, but has struggled to establish himself on the defensive side.
First was Barcelona showing interest, but recently Serie A side Napoli has also shown an interest in the defender. His ability on the ball is also seen as a huge selling point to teams playing a possession style of football, but also a reason why a team that keeps Roberto Martinez as manager would be reluctant to sell.
If Everton decide to stick with Martinez it seems a safe bet the team will do everything it can to hold onto most of the squad and make improvements at places of need like the wingers and fullbacks along with competition at keeper. What they won't want to do is sell young defenders and an elite striker.
I think Mori has a bright future, but he needs some time to develop and I'd still like to see that happen with Everton. The problem is I don't know if it happens under Martinez. Perhaps a team with Martinez in charge would do better with older and more experienced defenders instead of young developing backs.
