Everton captain Phil Jagielka as well as John Stones and Ross Barkley have all been called-up to Roy Hodgson's England squad for friendlies against Germany and the Netherlands next week.

There is no place, however, for Leighton Baines, who has made just 13 appearances this season due to a troublesome ankle injury.

Baines has earned 30 full caps for the national side but now faces competition from the likes of Ryan Bertrand and Danny Rose for the left-back position.

Also not included is Tom Cleverley, who joined up with England for a team get-together at St George's Park last month. Aaron Lennon also hasn't done enough to earn a recall despite his fine form in a blue shirt since the turn of the year.

Brendan Galloway has been called-up to the England U21 squad and could make his debut at that level against Switzerland in a European Championship qualifier next week.

Everton U21 captain Joe Williams has been called-up to the England U20 squad for the first time for the game against Canada on March 27.
