Everton's Merseyside derby against Liverpool at Anfield has been rescheduled for Wednesday April 20 - leaving the Toffees little time to prepare for the FA Cup semi-final that weekend.
The fixture was due to be played at the end of last month but was postponed due to Liverpool's involvement in the Capital One Cup final.
Rescheduling the fixture has proven difficult because of Everton's continued involvement in the FA Cup, Liverpool's run in the Europa League and an international break at the end of March.
Everton will now push for their FA Cup semi-final to be played on Sunday April 24th to give them an extra 24 hours to prepare.
Having such a huge fixture just days before a cup semi-final is far from ideal, though at least West Ham and Manchester United are also playing games on the same day against the other two semi-finalists.
They will not be the same intensity as a local derby though, with West Ham playing Watford and Man United hosting Crystal Palace.
Will Roberto consider making changes? David Moyes infamously fielded a weakened team at Anfield prior to a FA Cup quarter-final against Sunderland in 2012 and saw his side thrashed 3-0.
The side would draw that game against the Black Cats, though they did go on and win the replay. It would certainly be a risk though and place even greater pressure on their trip to Wembley the following weekend.
Everton's league trip to Sunderland - postponed last weekend because of the Chelsea game - will now be played in the final week of the season at the Stadium of Light on Wednesday May 11.
Everton's game away at Crystal Palace, originally scheduled for semi-final weekend, has yet to be assigned a new date.
