Everton manager Ronald Koeman has revealed his plans for Christmas ahead fo the Boxing Day clash at defending champions Leicester City, and the players are not going to like it.

With Monday’s game being the first of three in eight days, the gaffer has decided that Christmas is more of a hindrance than anything else to his squad’s preparation, and the players will train on both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day as well.

“It’s always difficult, because on one side you need to train and be prepared - but I know how important Christmas is in England. They already started in November!

“I have spoken to the players and told them what is best for us to do. We will do a training session on Christmas Eve, an early session on Christmas day and then they can go home for a while before we travel to Leicester in the afternoon.”

That Arsenal game aside, there is no doubt whatsoever that the Blues could use every bit of training they could get.
