It’s the Merseyside Derby!!

This is the big one. The Merseyside Derby. Blue vs. Red. Brother vs. Brother. Once again, Liverpool feel like the stronger team coming into this matchup, but Everton are impressive at Goodison Park and just beat a tough Arsenal team one week ago.

The Toffees defense will surely be put to the test. The Reds have the most potent attack in the Premier League. Their 40 goals (with a game in hand) are two more than the runner-up Gunners. And the number of weapons they have is just unfair.

Liverpool is fresh off a 3-0 whooping of Middlesbrough, but that came after a 2-2 draw with a slumping West Ham side and a 4-3 loss to Bournemouth. So, who knows what to expect from them?

From the outside looking in, Everton seem to have their swagger back. Those three points over Arsenal last time out were huge for their confidence. And they finally look to be gelling as a unit. Seamus Coleman has emerged as a leader. Idrissa Gueye is proving to be no fluke. And Romelu Lukaku is always a threat.

I’m way too optimistic right now. This clash will surely put a stop to that!
