Everton to target La Liga forward

Blues made a €20million offer for the player in the summer but that was knocked back.

Everton are looking to sign forward Rodrigo from Valencia as the club struggle with financial issues, according to the Spanish publication MARCA.

The Toffees are looking to reinforce their attack having struggled to create opportunities to score of late, starving Romelu Lukaku of chances up front.

Yannick Bolasie has been ruled out for the remainder of the season and possibly the majority of next season, while Kevin Mirallas, Gerard Deulofeu and Aaron Lennon have blown hot or cold this season.

Rodrigo, who can either be played as a striker or on the wing, has scored four goals so far this season for a Valencia side that sit 17th in the table.

Although the Spaniard has not lit the world alight at the Mestalla, he would certainly not be a bad option cutting in off the wing or to use his pace up front next to Romelu Lukaku or as another option to the Belgian.

If Everton did have a bid rejected in the summer, it is unlikely that Valencia could keep hold of the player should they come in with a similar bid.

Players recently linked in a similar position are Manchester United’s Memphis Depay (Link), Charlton Athletic’s Ademola Lookman (Link) and Leicester City’s Demarai Gray.
