Everton have been reportedly making inquiries at Hoffenheim in the Bundesliga for midfielder Sebastian Rudy and defender Niklas Sule.

Both players have been heavily scouted in recent weeks, with Everton sending someone to watch Rudy play for the German national side in a friendly against Italy in the just-ended international break.

Sule has been on Everton’s radar for a couple of months now, with Koeman eyeing the giant German as a centerback for the future.

Rudy is a 26-year-old defensive midfielder with 12 international caps for Die Mannschaft, having come over from VFB Stuttgart in 2010. He also has 49 appearances in international youth teams, with 7 goals.

The right-footed player is in the final year of his contract and Hoffenheim could lose him for nothing if he isn’t sold during the January transfer window. He has been rumoured to be ready to move on from the Bundesliga, and has attracted some attention from Serie A clubs as well. Per TransferMarkt, he could command a transfer fee in the £3m range, which is almost unheard of in the current inflated market.

Sule on the other hand developed in Hoffenheim's youth system and is only 21. At 6 feet 5 inches, he is an imposing figure in the backline and has been scouted by the Blues along with Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal, Atletico Madrid, Valencia and Inter Milan. Recent rumours also say that Merseyside rivals Liverpool are also watching the player.

With his contract recently extended to 2019, the defender will not come cheap and could cost about £10m, which is still peanuts compared to what high-potential young defenders go for nowadays.
