Leighton Baines and James McCarthy are both in line for a return to the Everton starting squad against Swansea City.
The left back’s last game was two months ago against Middlesbrough, while McCarthy was out after playing Manchester City in August. Both resumed training with the main squad, and this is what manager Ronald Koeman had to say about their progress.
“They have had a good week of training and they are available for the weekend.
“They started training last weekend. They have had the Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and today’s session, plus tomorrow. That is enough sessions to be available.”
Idrissa Gueye will return from suspension, but his regular partner in the midfield Gareth Barry will now serve his punishment for picking up five yellow cards.
Koeman also mentioned that while defender Tyias Browning has returned to training, he is nowhere near making an appearance during a game yet.
Muhamed Besic and Matthew Pennington remain out until early 2017.
For Swansea City, they have no players suspended and some positive news on the injury front. Nathan Dyer has returned to training after recovering from ankle surgery, and could be on the bench for the game.
Jefferson Montero will play with a cast on his broken hand, but with the Ecuador winger only returning to training on Thursday, he might also be a substitute.
