After Everton manager Ronald Koeman indicated his interest in Holland and Manchester United forward Memphis Depay a couple of days ago, talk about a deal during the January transfer window seems to have hit a fever pitch.
Depay scored twice as the Dutch beat Luxembourg 3-1 in a World Cup qualifier, and was asked about the talk surrounding him and a possible move to Everton -
"I do not know, we’ll have to see.
"I focus on United, I do my very best to be able to get minutes.
"I’m going back to United with a good feeling, because I have got minutes here (with Netherlands) and we won. That is the most important."
Everton’s official Twitter account also got into the act, albeit through an inadvertent tweet that had tongues wagging all over.

No doubt the Blues were keeping tabs on the Holland game as starting goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg was playing too, but it doesn’t take much to create first smoke then fire from just about nothing nowadays on the internet.
With the busy holiday season yet to come, it is quite unlikely that Everton have already agreed a deal to move the player in January, but when you’re talking about two personalities like Koeman and Jose Mourinho, anything is possible.
