Everton took a point from Manchester City on the road last week by using organized defense, opportunistic attack and a once-in-a-lifetime performance from goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg. This week against Burnley, expect for roles to be reversed.

These two teams have quite a long history together, first meeting back in 1888. Since then, there have been 108 of these matchups. The results: 47 Everton wins, 32 Burnley wins, 29 draws. The Toffees have taken wins in the last three games by a combined score of 6-1.

The 2016 version of Burnley is a team that struggles to score goals. Their six scores so far are tied with bottom-of-the-table Sunderland for fewest in the Premier League. On the other side of the ball, they have allowed 12 goals, 8th-most in the league.

However, the Clarets are a different team in the comforts of Turf Moor. Five of their matches so far have been at home. In those games, they have two wins (Liverpool, Watford), two losses (Swansea, Arsenal) and a draw (Hull), scoring five goals and allowing just three. So, be careful Blues. This could prove to be a tougher fixture than meets the eye.
