Maarten Stekelenburg turned in a performance today that Everton manager Ronald Koeman called ‘maybe his best game ever’.
The Toffees drew 1-1 away at Manchester City today with Stekelenburg saving two penalties and making multiple other blinding saves to foil a very relentless home side.

The Dutchman saved both penalties to his left, diving to push away Kevin de Bruyne’s shot, and then guessing right again as Sergio Aguero hit his to the exact same spot too.
He also pushed an Aguero shot just wide of the post, and made a spectacular flying save to keep out a wickedly swinging de Bruyne effort. Stekelenburg had earlier foiled Kelechi Iheanacho with his feet and looked like he one from David Siva well covered too.
It took a special header from Nolito to finally breach his defences, but he was well worth the point that Everton left with.
After the game he looked as cool as a cucumber and sounded as confident ashe was when repelling the Citizens.
