In news we reported before the new year it looks like Everton have landed Swiss U-21 International youngster Shani Tarashaj from Grasshoppers of the Swiss Super League.
The deal seems to be contingent on the 20-year-old player being loaned back to Grasshoppers for the remainder of the season.
A fee of around £3 Million has been agreed upon and all that remains is the papers being signed and a physical. Sky Sports is reporting that was done already today and he could be announced before the Cup tie tonight.
Tarashaj is an attacking midfielder who can also play on the left wing and as a second striker. He has 9 goals and 2 assists in all 20 competitions with the Grasshoppers this year. He also has 5 goals in 8 appearances with the Switzerland U-21 team.
Seems like while it will have no impact this season he could be an answer on the left wing with Steven Naismith and Kevin Mirallas potentially leaving the team and Arouna Kone obviously not the answer there.
