Everton will head out on the road in the FA Cup fourth round

Toffees to face Carlisle or Yeovil in round four

Everton have been drawn to play Carlisle United or Yeovil - both of League 2 - in the FA Cup fourth round following Monday's draw in London.

Everyone prefers a home draw but we really can't complain about second successive match against a League 2 side, even if it is away from Goodison Park. Carlisle and Yeovil drew 2-2 in their third round tie on Sunday with the replay scheduled for Tuesday January 19 at Yeovil's Huish Park.

Both sides are enjoying contrasting fortunes in the league, with Carlisle two points outside the play-off places while Yeovil are second-bottom (below our third round opponents Dag & Red).

In that sense Yeovil would be seen as the "easier" draw, but for the match-going fans Carlisle, located in the north-west of England, would be the better option.

The club's Brunton Park ground is currently undergoing repairs and the pitch re-laid after it was flooded over Christmas.

If the stadium isn't ready in time - and I imagine the club will be doing everything they can to make sure it is - then the match will be played elsewhere, most likely Preston's Deepdale or Blackpool's Bloomfield Road - both stadiums even closer to Merseyside.
