Everton have joined Aston Villa and Southampton in the race for Anderlecht midfielder Dennis Praet, according to The Guardian.

The player is set to leave his current club this summer and is rumoured to be available for a fee of around £10million.

That has alerted the Premier League trio, with the Villains having already made an enquiry about the possibility of making an offer for the midfielder.

The 21-year-old is highly sought after by some of the leading sides in Europe according to the report, so the Blues would likely face competition from further afield than England should they try to make a move for young midfielder.

Where he would fit in in Roberto Martinez's side would be an important question, with him already having Ross Barkley in the attacking midfield spot, as well as summer recruit Tom Cleverley.

At 21 though, he would likely be a long-term option that the club would look to develop for the future. Whether they would be willing to spend £10million on that type of player is another matter entirely, with other areas of the squad in more need of the investment.
