Aiden McGeady will miss Everton's pre season fixture against Swindon on Saturday as a result of a hamstring injury.
He will also be absent from the Blues pre-season tour to Singapore next week where they will take on Stoke and potentially Arsenal or a Singapore XI.
He joins Leighton Baines, Bryan Oviedo and Darron Gibson in all missing the trip, with four players set to stay on Merseyside to continue their rehabilitation ahead of the new season.
"Aiden has been suffering from a hamstring problem that affected him last season and it affected him when he was with the national team said Roberto Martinez.
"We need to get down to the root of the problem and make sure that he gets pain free."
McGeady's absence is sure to spark even further rumours of a move away from Goodison Park, with both Celtic and Sunderland rumoured to be interested. While the club says he has an injury, it's likely some will suggest he's staying behind for other reasons.
In other news, Martinez has confirmed that Under-21 defender Jonjoe Kenny will be in the squad for both the Swindon game and the visit to Singapore, while also admitting that young duo Brendan Galloway and Tyias Browning could both probably play for the full ninety minutes.
