Rumoured Everton target David Ospina has been speaking highly about the club in an interview with Colombia AS.

The Arsenal goalkeeper has been linked with a £5million move to Goodison Park this summer as a starting place at the Emirates looks increasingly unlikely.

That is because of the arrival of Petr Cech from Chelsea, with the keeper' likely to become the undisputed number one at the club next season, while Wojciech Szczesny and Ospina would battle it out for the number two spot.

And while the Colombian impressed last season, the Pole is likely to get that spot ahead of him, meaning a move away seems increasingly certain. Ahead of a potential move, he has been speaking favourably about Roberto Martinez's side.

"It's a very competitive team which showed significant things last season. They have a good coach and play good football. It is a team to bear in mind and a great possibility," he said.

The comments are certainly interesting from the Colombian goalkeeper, with him clearly being aware of who Everton are and what they're about.

They will also likely add weight to those speculating about a move, with him certainly not categorically ruling out the chances of a move. If Roberto Martinez is interested, the comments will certainly come as a boost to him.

And it's fair to say the Spaniard should be in for a goalkeeper at some point. Tim Howard showed a dramatic fall in form last season and is certainly coming to the end of his career, while Joel Robles has impressed but doesn't seem to be fancied.

Ospina then would be a good solution, as he has a raft of experience to his name while the reported £5million fee is a decent price for his services as well.
