Multiple media sources are now reporting that Barcelona's wantaway winger Gerard Deulofeu has sealed a £3million transfer to Everton in the last few days. His agent Deugines Carvajal was spotted at the club's Finch Farm training facilities this week as well.

The Spaniard returned to the Nou Camp after an excellent half-season on loan at the Toffees in 2013-14. The Blaugranes manager Luis Enrique then chose to send Deulofeu to fellow La Liga side Sevilla on loan. While Sevilla had a stellar season capped off by winning the Europa League trophy, Deulofeu remained a bit-part player and was expected to get culled from Barca despite the Catalan side's transfer ban which prevents them from adding new players to the squad. Despite the success and also finishing in fifth-place in the Spanish League, the Andalusian club have chosen to not sign the player whose contract expires at the end of this month.

Deulofeu was a polarizing figure in Everton's charge to fifth place two seasons ago - while Toffees enjoyed his devious yet pacy runs down the wings, there remained many who were unconvinced by his lack of consistency at the time. We had reported about a month ago that Deulofeu was showing some indications of wanting to come back to Everton, and now it's looking like it has come true.

The £3million deal, if confirmed, would represent a steal for Roberto Martinez, with the 21-year old valued at €12 million as recently as the beginning of this year. This is also half of what Tottenham are rumored to be asking for winger Aaron Lennon who played half the season on loan for the Blues.

Everton have already bolstered their midfield early on in this transfer window after signing Tom Cleverley whose contract with Manchester United expired after a year on loan at Aston Villa.
