Everton are in the hunt for Honduras forward Alberth Elis, if the Daily Mail are to be believed.
Manager Roberto Martinez is reportedly keen to add extra firepower to his team next season, and a striker is a big priority for him.
That has led to them being linked with the Honduras forward, who is said to have impressed scouts while playing in recent Under 20 internationals and making his debut for the national side.
Elis currently plays for Olimpia, and the paper describes him as quick and powerful, although given that he's just 19-years-old, then perhaps expectations should be tempered a little. Everton need an instant fix, Romelu Lukaku is (hopefully) our long-term fix.
Martinez does have history with Hondurans though, having brought both Maynor Figueroa and Wilson Palacios to Wigan during his time there, and interestingly they both played for Olimpia as well.
We'll have to wait and see on this one, but at a right price, it sounds like a gamble Everton would take. It does however, sound like a David Moyes type of signing. Denis Straqualursi anyone?
