Everton v Southampton: Gamethread / How to Watch & Listen

After a layoff for the international break, the Toffees are back in action at home against Southampton.

We're back to Premier League action this weekend as Southampton travel to Merseyside to take on the Toffees. After the international break of the past two weeks, both squads will be looking to start off the last leg of the campaign with a win. The Saints last saw action on March 21st when they took down Burnely 2-0. Everton played the following day and took a nervy 1-0 away win at Loftus Road against QPR. With their recent form, Everton have pulled themselves up from the bottom of the league table; causing relegation talk to die down quite a bit. However, a couple of key losses in the remaining matches could rile up concerns once again.

As with any match though, Southampton will be no pushover. Currently siting in sixth, the Saints are battling for a slot in one of the European competitions next year. As with virtually every match this season, having Romelu Lukaku on the pitch will be key to Everton's chances of victory. The latest news has him as a late assessment following his hamstring injury against QPR. Darron Gibson is working through a groin injury and could miss the match as well. We should expect to see Kevin Mirallas (dead leg) and Steven Pienaar (knee) back in action after nursing their own injuries. After a season marred by injuries and inconsistent play, the fans should look forward to seeing some healed-up old faces return to the squad.
