Marseille winger and Ghanaian international Andre Ayew could sign with Everton this summer according to recent reports. There had been rumors of Everton's interest in Ayew earlier in the season, and these recent reports will only fuel speculation that Roberto Martinez may be looking to sign the 25-year-old.
Ayew will be out of contract in the summer, making this a perfect move for Everton. While his wages may be on the pricey side, there will be no messing about with a transfer fee, making this an attractive move for the cash-strapped club. Everton will have to fend off interest from Roma and Newcastle United, but Ayew could feature heavily in an Everton side lacking quality on the wing.
Roberto Martinez has reportedly flown to France to speak to Ayew's representatives with the hopes of getting Ayew interested in signing with the Premier League club. While Everton may not be able to offer European competition like Roma can, they can all but guarantee a starting spot on the wings with Kevin Mirallas possibly leaving in the summer.
Ayew has eight goals and five assists in all competitions this season and scored three goals during the Africa Cup of Nations. He has been a key contributor for both club and country and would prove to be a significant upgrade over many of the players Everton currently have.
