Everton crashed out of Europa League after falling to Dynamo Kiev 5-2 (6-4 on aggregate) in Ukraine Thursday night. Here's how the players rated:
Tim Howard - 5 - Howard made some good saves, and couldn't be blamed for a few of the goals, but any time five get past it's tough to rate the goalkeeper any higher than a five.
Seamus Coleman - 4 - Coleman's poor defending contributed to one of the goals, and his usual offensive contribution was stifled by the Kiev defense.
Phil Jagielka - 5 - Had a tough night trying to make up for his fellow centerback, but scored a goal to provide a glimmer of hope at the end.
Antolin Alcaraz - 1 - A horrific performance.
Leighton Baines - 4 - Not Baines' best outing. His corners left a lot to be desired, though a late one ended up in the back of the net.
Gareth Barry - 4 - Puzzling that Barry continues to find the starting eleven with Darron Gibson and Muhamed Besic on the bench.
James McCarthy - 6 - It wasn't enough, but McCarthy at least seemed interested in moving on to the next round, which is more than can be said for some of his teammates.
Steven Naismith - 5 - Naismith put forth a sufficient effort, but couldn't get into the game.
Christian Atsu - 4 - Managed a few shots, but couldn't make the most of his start.
Ross Barkley - 7 - Was unlucky not to score two goals.
Romelu Lukaku - 7 - Scored a beautiful goal, as he does in Europe.
Arouna Kone - 4 - Kone came on in the 65th minute but did not threaten the Kiev defense.
Leon Osman - 6 - Osman also came on in the 65th minute, but couldnt find the much-needed goal.
Muhamed Besic - 6 - Replaced McCarthy late, and worked hard, but the game was all but over at that point.
