Everton Transfer Rumor Round-Up

Inter Milan's Kovacic on Everton's Radar

Midfielder Mateo Kovacic is believed to be seeking an exit from Inter Milan this summer and Everton are apparently seeking his signature. Kovacic has eight goals and two assists in all competitions this season and has seen his stock rise since joining the Italian club from Dinamo Zagreb. The fee is believed to be around £15 million, but Arsenal and Manchester United could also be in the chase and likely out-bid Everton. Despite Kovacic's talents, this strikes me as a position that the Toffees do not exactly need. Ross Barkley is supposed to be the midfielder of the future, and there's no way Roberto Martinez pays £15 million for a back-up. Needless to say, this is a slightly curious rumor.

Real Madrid May Loan Midfielder to Toffees

Real Madrid's Casemiro will likely spend next season on loan, and Everton may be in the running to get the Brazilian. Currently on loan with FC Porto, Casemiro is unlikely to feature in Real Madrid's first team, especially with their glut of central midfielders. Much like the Kovacic rumors, this one is curious. Everton just signed a young defensive midfielder in Mo Besic to go along with James McCarthy, Gareth Barry and Darron Gibson.

Aaron Lennon Transfer Price Releaved

On-Loan winger Aaron Lennon could cost around £7 million if Everton choose to make the move permanent. Lennon looked fantastic in the club's victory over Newcastle this past weekend and certainly appears to be an upgrade over the injured Aiden McGeady. Wing play has been a weakness for Everton this season, and it has hindered the ability of the team's fullbacks to overlap with consistency. Lennon has proven to be a dangerous player in the Premier League and Everton should certainly look into making the move permanent if the price is right.
