Report - Tim Cahill considering offers from Premier League

Reports from Australia claim former Everton man Tim Cahill is considering offers to return to the Premier League.

Cahill left Everton in 2012 and it was widely perceived that he could no longer consistently perform at the highest level. However, his performances for Australia in the Asian Cup has prompted speculation he could leave New York Red Bulls for England before the transfer deadline.

Fox Sports in Australia claim the 35-year-old has had offers from the Premier League as well as Chinese Super League club Shanghai Shenhua and sides UAE and Qatar.

Any move to England will have to be completed by tonight, but the Chinese, UAE and Qatari transfer windows don't close until later in the month, perhaps giving Cahill more time to mull over a move.

There is no indication the Premier League offer is from Everton, though it would be strange to see Cahill playing for a top-flight side other than blues.

However, there must also be serious question marks about whether Cahill can still cut it at this level, despite his heroics for the Socceroos.
