Rooney attends Everton vs Crystal Palace match

Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney made his return to Goodison Park, though this time he was in the stands. Rooney was in attendance with his son Kai as the Toffees took on Crystal Palace on Monday. The United captain will miss his team's Champions League clash tomorrow against Wolfsburg, and took the time to pay a visit to his boyhood club Everton.

Rooney's attendance will surely reignite speculation that he may be looking to rejoin the club he made his Premier League debut with. And given his warm reception at Duncan Ferguson's testimonial match, the feeling appears to be mutual. We polled our readers on what Everton should do about Rooney should his time at United come to an end, and 62% wanted him back with the club.

While Rooney's future may be up in the air, it is nice to see that Everton still holds a place in his heart. Only the future will tell if the England captain will put on the Everton kit again.
