After rejecting a transfer bid of £7 million this offseason from Norwich City it looks like Steven Naismith will finally make a move to the Norwich team for a reported transfer of £8 million according to BBC Sport. This after he spent much of the season on the bench behind Arouna Kone.
It looked like this season might prove Everton right for holding on to the Scottish midfielder/striker when he scored a hat trick against Chelsea in September. Since that time he hasn't seen much game time and been largely confined to the bench by Roberto Martinez.
Now after a follow up bid by Norwich City it appears he will get a chance to show what he can do with more playing time. I don't think anyone can deny this is a good move for a player largely confined to the bench and may not even be the second choice at left midfield if injuries and suspensions did happen.
Naismith is one of the better business deals of the Toffees when he was signed on a free transfer after the insolvency of the Rangers FC in 2012. Since then he has played 103 Premier League games and scored 18 goals. Making an £8 million return on the player is a very good return.
