Everton beat Norwich City on penalties last night in the Fourth Round of the Capital One Cup, to book their spot in the quarter finals of the competition.
The game had ended 1-1 after Sebastian Bassong had opened the scoring for the Canaries, and midfielder Leon Osman then tied the game with minutes to go in regular time. Both sides had plenty of chances to go ahead late and then in extra time as well, with Everton particularly guilty of some flagrant finishing. Goalie Joel Robles made some acrobatic saves to keep Norwich out and take the game into penalties.
During the shootout, the Blues went four out of four with Gerard Deulofeu, Ross Barkley, Romelu Lukaku and Darron Gibson all scoring, while Robles kept out Wes Hoolahan and Norwich's top scorer Nathan Redmond blasted wide.
