There are some new rumours going on out there, for both players leaving and arriving.
In:
The Blues are still being linked to goalkeepers, with Cardiff City's David Marshall and QPR's Alex McCarthy the latest to be linked. The former would be a great signing as we saw from his performance against us last season, while the latter can't be that good as he currently can't get past Rob Green for the number one sport at Loftus Road. Who knows if either of the lnks are based in truth though.
There are also rumours going around about us and a couple of defenders, namely Celtic's Virgil van Dijk and Palermo's Ezequiel Munoz. However, it looks like we're going to be priced out of the Hoops man, with the Scottish club apparently wanting £10 million for the centre-back. We are supposedly not willing to pay that, but it does all look a bit made up to me. Meanwhile Munoz is stalling on a new contract at his club, and we've been linked. This could well just be his agent spreading stories in order to get a better deal though.
Out:
One of the more 'out there' stories doing the rounds is that Serie A club Sampdoria are looking in to signing Samuel Eto'o just five months after he joined us. Reports in Italy have started this, but I would be very surprised if we were to let the Cameroonian go, with him seemingly favoured by Martinez as a rotation option.
In other news, Neville Southall has rather annoyingly come out and said that maybe we should sell Ross Barkley in order to fund a rebuild of our squad. This is sure to start the rumour mill all over again, and expect pretty much anyone with money to be suddenly 'interested' in the youngster.
Would you take the money if we were offered it for the future star?
