Matthew Kennedy, a winger in the Everton youth system has returned to the club following a loan spell with Scottish Premier League side Hibernian.
Kennedy has spent the entirety of his time at Everton either on loan or with the team's U-21 squad. He split last season between League One sides MK Dons and Tranmere Rovers amassing 15 appearances, and notching only one goal while with MK Dons.
He played significantly more time during this loan spell, with 16 appearances across all competitions and was able to score a goal during the League Cup. Despite Everton's issues on the wing, Kennedy is likely a few years away from playing for the first team, so it would be reasonable to assume that he will be loaned out again to Scotland or a lower English tier team.
Hopefully Kennedy can follow in the footsteps Everton youth players Luke Garbutt and Tyias Browning and join the first team in the near future. Everton have always been renowned for their youth program and it would be nice to see more youngsters coming up to the first team.
