The Liverpool Echo’s Everton transfer gossip webpage reports that the Blues are in the hunt to sign Bayern Munich’s Xherdan Shaqiri.
Italian journalist, Tancredi Palmeri has tweeted that Everton are one of three clubs in the race to sign Shaqiri. Educated guesses can be made that Inter Milan and Liverpool are the other two clubs that Palmeri is referring.
The 23-year-old is unhappy at the Allianz Arena, with the lack of opportunities in the starting eleven and according to reports is available this transfer window for £11m.
Despite the shortage of football for the winger, there is no question of his ability – especially what was on show at the 2014 World Cup, were Shaqiri was the key player in the Swiss team and scoring a hat-trick against Honduras.
The Toffees have been crying out for a wide player and signing someone of this player’s quality would surely kick-start their season; bearing in mind this is the early stages of speculation, the calibre of the other clubs in the race for him and potential price tag.
