According to Daily Star and Liverpool Echo reports, amongst others, David Moyes is looking to sign Steven Pienaar for a third time, this time for Real Sociedad.

The South African arguably played the best football of his entire career under David Moyes in both spells and after two seasons under Martinez plagued by injury he might be tempted to make a fresh start in Spain.

Pienaar, 32, has started five times this season; one being the ‘reserves match’ at home to Krasnodar and only completed 90 minutes in that game alone.

Currently Pienaar is suffering from a knee injury and his return to training never mind first team football, has not been disclosed.

Former Everton manager, David Moyes has been linked with several Premier League players since his return to management, with Pienaar not being the first from his old clubs.

The Scot has already missed out on Joel Campbell, who looks to be part of Arsenal’s Gabriel Paulista deal, and Adnan Januzaj – who has been told to fight for his place at Old Trafford.

Furthermore, another target Mohamed Salah looks set to stay in the Premier League or move to Roma so Moyes is reportedly turning his attentions to another reunion with Pienaar.
