Youngster’s ‘experience’ comes to an end

Everton have recalled 20-year-old midfielder John Lundstram from his season-long loan at Blackpool.

When Lundstram joined Blackpool the Tangerines couldn’t fill a starting eleven, never mind a match-day squad and the youngster was getting valuable experience at a high level – even with Blackpool rooted to the foot of the table.

With other loan signings and free transfers Blackpool have assembled a squad now but with new manager Steve Clark, Lundstram has found his opportunities decreasing.

In fact, the England U20 representative hasn’t appeared for Blackpool since November and the last two matches he has been an unused substitute.

Perhaps Lundstram might go back out on loan with him not being recalled for the purpose of covering injured players in his position.

With Jacob Murphy’s Snapchat photo, recalling Lundstram and then sending him back out on loan to a less ‘disruptive’ club is definitely the right call.
