There has actually been some real tangible news on the transfer front this week, as Roberto Martinez looks to strengthen in order to save what is left of our season.

You may have seen on this very site that we have been linked to a young defender called Angelo Fulgini. Well, these rumours originated from l'Equipe, a French newspaper which does not have a 100% record on transfer stories. The 18-year-old would be cheap, but at the same time would be unlikely to actually improve the first team until at least next season if signed.
The Toffees are apparently also interested in Ahmad Benali, who is yet another technically proficient defensive midfielder for the ranks. Celtic are meant to be in pole position for the 22-year-old, but we might attempt to snatch him from under their nose. The youngster's club Brescia are in financial trouble, and so he could be signed for next to nothing. However, he isn't exactly what we need at the moment.
In real news, Roberto Martinez has ruled out a move for Cardiff City's David Marshall. To add to this, a recent injury to player means that he can't play until February anyway. Despite Joel's brilliant performance on Tuesday night we do still need a keeper, but there is no clue who it could be right now.

There is something resembling real news here as well, and it looks like Samuel Eto'o is going to leave the club. Both Serie A side Sampdoria and American team New York Cosmos have been linked to the Cameroonian. Martinez has said that the 33-year-old can leave, and it may not be long before he actually does.
Back in the world of rumours, and Arsenal are meant to be trying to nick James McCarthy from us with injuries piling up at the Emirates. I really can't see this one happening, especially in January, but you never know.
